Parenting and the Inner Child

One-hour virtual group class

Workshop Description

The concept of the inner child refers to the part of our psyche that represents our childhood self. It encompasses our emotions, experience, memories, and beliefs from our early years. The concept suggests that the experiences and emotions we had during childhood continue to influence us in adulthood, affecting our thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. This course will help parents:

  • Understand and connect with their own childhood experiences, which can in turn impact how they parent their own children.
  • Acknowledge and address any unresolved childhood traumas or emotional wounds, allowing parents to better understand their own triggers and reactions, and therefore respond to their children with empathy and patience.
  • Help parents be more aware of their own parenting styles and patterns and make conscious choices to break any negative cycles or behaviors they may have inherited from their own upbringing.
