Bethany Keith

People are complex and no single approach is the right one for every individual.

Bethany Keith has been a psychotherapist for the past 37 years working in a variety of settings including hospitals, school systems, and in private practice. She is passionate about facilitating the process of healing, especially for those who have experienced trauma. Ms. Keith has experience with children, adults, and families helping them to find healthy perceptions of themselves, strengthening their relationships and connections so they can again know themselves as complete, whole and safe human beings. She also provides training in a number of tools they can use to improve their life experience including: meditation, interactive guided imagery, EFT-Emotional Freedom Technique, relaxation exercises, anger management, emotional intelligence skills, yogic breathing techniques, conflict resolution, management of grief and loss, self-hypnosis, the use of visualization, and Qigong.

Ms. Keith has trained in a range of modalities including: Trauma Informed Therapy, Relational Gestalt, Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral, Humanistic and Cognitive Processing Therapy. She believes in deeply listening to her clients and finding the approach that speaks to them.

Ms. Keith earned her Bachelors of Science from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and her Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Tennessee. She has trained with the Esalen Center in California and completed training in “Psychotherapy with the Medical Patient” at Harvard University. Her private practice was focused on treating patients with medical conditions.

When she’s not working you can find her happily gardening, kayaking, hiking nature trails or painting. She has a daughter, Grace, who is an artist in residence in Mendocino, California who is the light of her life and a feisty 92YO mother who keeps her busy here in Indiana. And last but not least, she is an animal lover who always seems to have a house full of them.
